4th Exercise - Diagram

A diagram related with the idea of program. I choose seven things: Happen, Connections, Time, Life, Space, Objects and Change. These seven things represent the program in a room.

4th Exercise: Diagram.

4th Exercise: Diagram of our room.

What is related to the idea of program? Each of us has a different idea to use our private space, in this case our room. We use this one to make different actions, to express our feelings, to be alone when we need privacy ... To sum up, our room is the physical expression of our personality.

4th Exercise: Programme and Private Space

To develop an architectural project, we make a preliminary investigation process that guides the architect in his work along the entire project. The interpretation by the Architect of the results of this stage is what defines the personality great extend of the project.

We define architectural programming as the research and decision-making process that identifies the scope of work to be designed.

Architecture program is related to two types of elements:

•The common elements, which depends of the culture and the age. For example: a door, a window, a roof,...

•The specific elements, which depends of the destinatary/addressee/receiver of the space.

As Rem Koolhaas said: "architects aren't the executors of the program, they are the productors of the concepts. For him, the concepts are conceptual strategies, they act like open mechanism generated of the project and they allow to operate in some situations of continuous changes.

The result is an only investigation which makes that private space is connected to every single episode of our activity.

It is imperative that the major decision-maker-the client- owner allows participation of all the stakeholders, or the client-users, who are affected by the design.

For example, if the projects are being an office/classroom building for the humanities department at an institution of higher education, the project programming committee could include representatives from the involved academic departments, faculty, students, and building operations and facility maintenance departments.

A real example of this is the Lowell Health House of Richard Neutra who lived with the doctor Lowell and his family for adapt the house to their lifestyle.

PHILIPPE RAHM - Constructed Atmospheres.

 “Form and function follow climate”

Serene and mysterious, like the monoliths of 2001: A Space Odyssey, lit by blue neon lights floating roses and white main gallery Gallerie Berlin Arckitekture A0 format a book that collects the work of Philippe Rahm since 2005.

Charts and complex similar to those of a biology book or an instructional appliances that introduce us to the study of a complex practice that emancipated tectonic space was defined by which to work from light, steam and temperature charts that dwell therein.

An example where the white catalog and the four small screens with lectures emphasize the feeling of emptiness that creates the room and carry the viewer through a spectrum of feelings, doubts and existential dilemmas through its pages and discover a combination of mutable substances against the possible new weather realities would emerge.

Thus, the ocean air Fraticelli discovered 400 years becomes the raw material of the French study and man than anything he's shown as a reagent in the environment. Being and space merge into a single element; The complexity increases as in the qualities and qualities of the surrounding atmosphere and determine zoning building architectural elements. The rules of the game change and the invisible to the visible gains ground, concepts disintegrate into particles and reincarnate into new roles. The scale is diluted and a room or focus lock ignorable manage complexities for the view to which the body reacts and work should do it too.

It is then that, perverting the art incandescent fluorescent nights trasvisten days that simulate flows in shape, habitat moisture, light bulbs and heaters melanin beach as resulting from Baudelaire Phillipe Rahm process in which destroys concepts and symbols to keep them alive in a different body. The material nature of architectural language is set aside and replaced by the construction of the atmosphere through design meteorological processes such as evaporation, digestion, conduction, radiation, convection and detonate pressure and condition their buildings. Projects and facilities with which this office is discovering and plotting new ways in which culture, psychology and the view facing the physiology, physics and perception that dominate our most animal side.

"Constructed Atmospheres" seemed at first glance to those who walk in the cold looking for the small gallery on the ground floor of a huge building in the infinite Karl Marx Allee and wide, but over the pages of the book and get lost among the many spaces each room hides atmosphere that generates the same effect emissary black astronaut Bowman prisms or primates in the film of Kubrick who faced something new seemingly harmless but in my point of view revealing.

3rd Exercise: Video

This video is about my room. What do I do in my room? My room is my private space and it is how I like.

3rd Exercise: My Private Space - Nature at my room.

In this video I try to express  that  architecture  should  not  stray  from  nature. Therefore, during the video I uncover furniture from the leaves of the trees symbolizing that the coexistence between nature and architecture is possible. Finally, my clothes reminds the Greeks who respected nature over architecture.

3rd Exercise: My Private Space.

3rd Exercise: My Private Space.

With this video I want to show how the room,  our private space transforms as we grow.
As the details of a period change.

3rd Exercise: Video of changing our room

This video represents the past of the time in a room, we dont have the same necesities when we are child and we grow up. Also things change with us like the plants or our hobbies

2nd Exercise: Performance

I want to show with some of my drawings, how we
are forgetting our more primitive environment, our nature.
City envelops everything and while we destroy the environment.

It's a reflection exercise.
As time goes on, we lose the natural to build more.

I want to show how we have divided nature of the city. The city becomes a dark place while nature is as something idyllic.
I want to join these two realities.
In the picture I have a camera to reference that we are not able to see with our own eyes.

We have a problem.

RETHINKING

2nd Exercise: Performance

My performance is a musical theme. This theme start very easy and you change it one time, two times, three times... After this changes you have a good theme. In architecture you can do the same. You have an idea and draw it. Later you draw again changed some things lot of times. Finally, you have a good project.

Later, my group do a concert in a public square of my city. In this concert we interact a lot with the people who stay in this square or are walking. We change the public space, the program, the space, the light, the materials, the structure...

2nd Exercise: Performance

I want to become an interiorims architect so I made a model of an empty house. You can change all about it because there are a lot of ways of proyect a room, it only depends on the destinatary. I want to learn how people feel inside the house depending of the walls, the materials, the light , shape...
And with that information be able to make a room special for everyone

2nd Exercise: Performance - 'Bosco Verticale'

Because I do not have pictures of the performance I did in the day of the delivery of smells and touches of nature, I have looked for information about the introduction of nature in architecture and I found this wonderful project of two skyscrapers that blend nature and architecture to perfection. They are in Milan, the structure was built in 2012 and the design was done by the architects Stefano Boeri, Gianandrea Barreca and Giovanni La Varra. This project fits perfectly with the kind of architect I would like to become someday.

Bosco Verticale will be the world’s first vertical forest, with each apartment having a balcony planted with trees. In summer, oaks and amelanchiers will shade the windows and filter the city’s dust; in winter, sunlight will shrine through the bare branches.
The Bosco Verticale is a system that optimizes, recuperates, and produces energy. Covered in plant life, the building aids in balancing the microclimate and in filtering the dust particles contained in the urban environment (Milan is one of the most polluted cities in Europe). The diversity of the plants and their characteristics produce humidity, absorb CO2 and dust particles, producing oxygen and protect the building from radiation and acoustic pollution. This not only improves the quality of living spaces, but gives way to dramatic energy savings year round.

Each apartment in the building will have a balcony planted with trees that are able to respond to the city’s weather — shade will be provided within the summer, while also filtering city pollution; and in the winter the bare trees will allow sunlight to permeate through the spaces. Plant irrigation will be supported through the filtering and reuse of the greywater produced by the building. Additionally, Aeolian and photovoltaic energy systems will further promote the tower’s self-sufficiency.

The design of the Bosco Verticale is a response to both urban sprawl and the disappearance of nature from our lives and on the landscape. The architect notes that if the units were to be constructed unstacked as stand-alone units across a single surface, the project would require 50,000 square meters of land, and 10,000 square meters of woodland. Bosco Verticale is the first offer in his proposed BioMilano, which envisions a green belt created around the city to incorporate 60 abandoned farms on the outskirts of the city to be revitalized for community use.

2nd Exercise: Performance

As I mentioned earlier my interests are minimalist and organic architecture. Is why I designed this box made of natural materials (wood and stone) in order to show a very basic and minimalist form which combined with the human being and seeking a balance between human developement and the natural world.
During the performance on the class you could see how I beating the box like rhythm box, that purported to show my interest in the rhythm of the architecture. Another thing that I made this performance was to show the shapes of the box, trying to show my interest in minimalist architecture.
Finally it should be mentioned that the box had two faces, one sad and one happy, with which purported to show my passion for the emotions that causes arquitecure.

1st Exercise: Myself as an architect First exercise

Hi! My name is Sonia and I want to become an interiorism architect so I made this photo with half photo of me and the other half with a bone face, which represent the interior of a person

1st Exercise: Presentation

My name is Eduard, I study architecture because my favourite’s subjects are maths, physical and drawing, and architecture link them. My hobbies are play violin and do sport, specifically basketball.

I want to be an architect, who is interested on music and light and shadows in the stage. I think that these two things are very important to do a good entertainment, and I search it when I do some actuation with my group. In addition if you want to resolve light or acoustic problems in architecture, you need to know a lot of maths and physical.

1st Exercise: Presentation

My name is Gemma and I want to be an arquitect. The question is:
What kind of arquitect do you want to become?
I don't think that exist only one type of arquitect that includes all details what I want to consider.

I want to look a things with a new perspective considering new aspects such as the nature, economy, materials, or disability.

Mix concepts, new perspectives. Show like a detail can become the center of everything.

I want to be able to help the people.

1st Exercise: Pictures of myself.

With this first picture of myself,  I want to express the uncertainty I feel when they ask me what kind of architect I want to be in the future. It is  something that  is still not  clear  for  me, time will dictate it. Therefore, in this picture, I am trying to express doubt and concern to this question.
With this second picture, I express I do not want to be an architect who crushes nature. So that, in this picture my feet symbolize the architecture and the grass symbolize the nature.
This third and last picture is a mixture of two previous pictures where I want to symbolize that I still do not know what kind of architect I want to become but always respecting the environment.

1st Exercise: Presentation

Hello my name is Ruben and I am 19 years old.
With this picture of my shadow I try to show my interest in minimalist architecture, since it is a type of architecture in which the elements are combined to form a unit. This architecture focuses on the purest and simplest forms, and can be defined with the quote "less is more", a phrase that I think fits perfectly with my personality.

Minimalism takes great care to space and ecological materials, that is the reason why another of my interests is organic architecture, which raises the balance between human development and the natural world; thing that I have tried to capture with the image of my face. What I wanted to show with that image was the purpose of this architecture to develop constructions, buildings and furniture as a composition, not as imposed resources in the landscape.
